Sound Installation Interactive Installation World premiere

Wave Fields | Lawrence English (AUS)

Wave Fields presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an entire evening sleeping on the beach, inside a blanket of sound created by internationally renowned artist Lawrence English.

Merging music, environmental recordings and live sound from the performance location itself, Wave Fields invites audiences to experience the ways in which sound drifts into and out of our dreams, and how incidental atmospheres complement, interrupt and augment our sleep.

You won’t be left out in the cold either, with the best local providers supplying delicious food and drink before you slip into sleep, and again when the sun stirs you in the morning.

Please bring your swag or sleeping bag and pillow as you will be sleeping on the beach as part of this overnight experience.

This event is sold out. For guests attending, tickets includes light supper, tea, coffee and a light breakfast in the morning.

About the creator:
Lawrence English is composer, artist and curator based in Australia. Working across an array of aesthetic investigations, English's work explores the politics of perception and prompts questions of field, perception and memory. English utilises a variety of approaches including visceral live performance and installation to create works that ask participants to consider their relationship to place and embodiment.
