Bullhorn, Tijuana Cartel and Cheap Fakes

New wave brass band Bullhorn are an acoustic force of nature with a line-up including seven horn players, one drummer and one monster MC.

Their high octane, combination of hard hitting hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae and dance music never fails to get the audience moving.

"Pumping out thumping track after thumping track, The Musical. Talent on the stage just blows your mind." Reverb Magazine.

Get your dance on as Tijuana Cartel serves up a floor-shaking mix of world music and club beats. Tijuanna Cartel is a four-piece band that blends rhythms, vocals and electronica from East to West. Their completely unique sound has captured the attention of listeners across the globe - including SIA.

The band has played the national festival circuit - including Falls Festival, Bluesfest and Good Vibes amongst others - and has toured relentlessly, both in Australia and India. On the back of their critically acclaimed single, 'Ishtar' (named after the goddess of love, beauty, sex, and war), Tijuanna Cartel recently released their third album to rave reviews. See them perform their newest music - a wild concoction of heavy bass, haunting guitars and soul smashing beats.

Tijuana Cartel is Paul George and Carey O'Sullivan as co-producers, guitarists and keyboard players; Daniel Gonzalez on Afro Cuban percussion and Josh Sinclair on trumpet.

"...intriguing, energetic and utterly delicious! Constant touring here and abroad and an enduring love affair with live gigs give these guys a very raw and electric energy." BEAT.

"Wanna know how good this song is? When I played it on House Party SIA tweeted me wanting to know what it was?! Crazy! And well deserved." Nina Las Vegas (triple j) on the song, White Dove.

"Our aim is to take the listeners on a journey. But within that journey there are lots of ventures into little side streets, dark alleys and also vast open plains. It's layered and mature, it builds up and it breaks down, its delicate, its harsh." Cheap Fakes.

Brisbane's six headed genre defying beast are Australia's best blend of massive soul-soaked, brass-fueled pop, funk and ska. Cheap Fakes continue to bring their unique and energetic music to masses of listeners and live audiences worldwide. Born in 2009 from a dream to bring a new and unique sound to Brisbane, Cheap Fakes have since sculpted an ever-growing fan base from their extensive touring and ever-evolving discography. Never keen to languish in the still waters of comfort, Cheap Fakes have pushed out and taken chances on all three of their major releases: 2010's 'Stones & Sticks', 2013s 'Hand Me Downs' and 2015s 'Modern Vintage'.

This year will see the release of the Fake's fourth studio album, with its first two singles, 'Touch n Go' and 'Sisters', already making waves. Despite the excellent reception of the recorded material, Cheap Fakes treat playing live as a completely different beast & have been a long-shining light on the live scene. Whether supporting such titans as Sublime, Cody Chesnutt, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, or The Black Seeds, establishing themselves as a festival favourite from sweltering sets at Woodford Folk Festival, Big Pineapple Festival, Valley Fiesta, or Caloundra Music Festival (to name a few) or their own electrifying headline tours of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and beyond, Cheap Fakes have confidently entrenched themselves as a welcome fixture of Australia's live music landscape.

The Youth Music Venture (YMV), a totally voluntary organisation now in its ninth year, aims to provide creative support, break negative cycles and empower youth aged 11 – 18 to make their own difference within the community. Since its inception, YMV has seen more than 250 young people come through the program, using the power of music to inspire them, build their self esteem and overcome the challenges of young lives.
