Malaysia
Malaysia is a Southeast Asian nation, located north of the Equator and Singapore and south of Thailand. Malaysia joined the Commonwealth in 1957 and made its debut at the Kingston 1966 Commonwealth Games, at which it won a total of five medals.
It has taken part in 12 Commonwealth Games and has won medals at every games it has attended, with particular success in badminton. Malaysia’s biggest haul of gold and silver medals came when its capital, Kuala Lumpur, was the first Asian city to host the Commonwealth Games in 1998.
Malaysia won a total of 36 medals, 12 of which were gold, at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games and claimed a total of 19 medals at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
