Kenya

Kenya became a member of the Commonwealth in 1963, although it first took part in the Commonwealth Games in 1954. It has missed only one games: the Edinburgh 1986 Commonwealth Games.
Sitting astride the equator, beside the Indian Ocean, Kenya is famous for its distance runners and its many Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games titles on the athletics track.
Each Commonwealth Games Kenya has attended has yielded gold, silver and bronze medals in athletics and boxing. This was the case at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games where Kenya won 15 medals in athletics and three medals in boxing. At the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, Kenya won a total of 30 medals, 12 of which were gold, including one in swimming. The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games delivered ten gold medals, ten silver medals and five bronze medals for Kenya.
