Superstar Yohan Blake ready to leave a mark at GC2018
The second fastest man in history, Jamaica’s Yohan Blake, has landed in Queensland ready to leave his mark on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Only Usain Bolt has run quicker than Blake’s lightning 100 metres of 9.69 seconds.
Blake is a two-time world champion and Olympic Games gold medallist, and he is dreaming of winning his first Commonwealth Games medal on the Gold Coast.
“I dream about it everyday,” Blake told GC2018.com.
“I’m playing the race in my mind. My first time in Australia, what it is going to be like.
“I’m really happy with my progress, this is the fastest I’ve ever run this early in the season, feeling really good and I’m ready.
“From when I was a little boy, my father put me in front of the TV and I’m watching Australia. The MCG, The WACA, Brisbane. I’ve seen all those places that Australia plays cricket, but just on the television, so it is good to be here.”
