Hockey semifinal showdowns
New Zealand will be hoping to regain its early tournament flair when it takes on England in the first semifinal of the women's hockey tournament on Thursday.
New Zealand went through the preliminaries undefeated, scoring a whopping 18 goals in their first two Pool B games, before finishing the preliminary phase with two scoreless draws against Australia and Canada.
World No.2 England finished on top of Pool A, and head into their clash with the Black Sticks women with confidence following their impressive 3-0 win over Malaysia in their last preliminary match.
Alexandra Danson and Susannah Townsend have been the standouts for England at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, while Stacey Michelsen is in career-best form for New Zealand.
In the other semifinal, Australia will face off against a resurgent Indian side.
The hometown Hockeyroos were not convincing through the preliminary stage but managed to finish on top of Pool B with three wins and a draw.
India dropped the first game of their competition to Wales 3-2, but then disposed of Malaysia, England and South Africa en route to the medal rounds.
Keep an eye on Australian drag flicking threat Jodie Kenny, who has scored half of the Hockeyroos eight tournament goals so far.
For India, captain Rani looks most likely to cause the Australians trouble, having scored in all but one of her side's matches so far at GC2018.
Classification matches for positions seventh through to 10th will also take place at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre on Thursday.
