Hamilton to keep athletes safe in the sun at GC201828 Sep 2017
Basking in an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, sunscreen is a daily staple for Gold Coasters.
And at GC2018, leading Australian sunscreen brand Hamilton will be keeping athletes, volunteers and staff protected from the rays in the lead up to and during the Games as the GC2018 Official Sunscreen Supplier.
GC2018 Swimming Ambassador Emma McKeon and Diving Ambassador Domonic Beddgood joined mascot Borobi at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre for a sun safety demonstration and to welcome Hamilton to the GC2018 sponsor family.
The Australian made and owned sunscreens have been protecting Australian families and visitors for over 80 years and GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie AC said sun safety was a major focus as preparations continue for GC2018.
This is the perfect partnership knowing that our athletes, volunteers and staff will be well looked after and protected with Hamilton sunscreen.
It gives us a great deal of reassurance and reminds us that the health of everyone involved in the Games is right at the top of our list of priorities.
GOLDOC CEO Mark Peters agreed there is no better time to talk about sun safety.
Leading up to the long weekend when we’ll get outdoors to enjoy our wonderful country in beautiful weather is the perfect time to remind people to be sun smart.
This is a great partnership and one that will enable us to voice some extremely important health messages over the summer months.
Generously applying and reapplying sunscreen is important to being well protected and will be especially so for GC2018 competitors, officials, spectators, volunteers and workers who will spend plenty of time in the Queensland sun.
