Allianz set to take fans on para athletes journey

5 Mar 2018

GOLDOC’s newest sponsor, Allianz Australia, will give spectators a behind-the-scenes look at Australia’s para athletes preparing to compete at GC2018.

Featured on the Allianz Facebook page, three-time Paralympian and World Champion wheelchair racer, Madison de Rozario and Paralympian triathlete, Nic Beveridge will reveal their journeys as they look to claim gold this April.

Allianz Australia reconfirmed its commitment to Australian Para-Sport, re-signing with Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) to 2021 and joining the GC2018 Sponsor Family and the Australian Commonwealth Games Team.

Allianz Managing Director, Richard Feledy said it was an honour to be supporting Australian athletes and sponsorship of the GC2018 Triathlon and the first ever Commonwealth Games Para Triathlon.

“We are proud to invest in partnerships which reflect inspiration and innovation, which are both an important part of who we are,” Mr Feledy said.

“What could be more inspiring than watching our athletes push themselves to the limit?

“Two of these incredible athletes are Allianz Ambassadors, Madison de Rozario and Nic Beveridge.

“Both are medal contenders for the Commonwealth Games, and we look forward to cheering them on come April.”

GOLDOC Chairman, Peter Beattie AC said GC2018 was proud to partner with Allianz Australia to champion diversity and inclusion in Australia.

“GC2018 will have the largest integrated para-sport program in Commonwealth Games history with 38 medal events across seven para-sports,” Mr Beattie said.

“We’re focused on making these Games the most accessible in Commonwealth Games history and hope to inspire a new generation of athletes across Australia and the Commonwealth.

Allianz Australia has a long history of supporting diversity and inclusion. Their support of the APC and Australian Commonwealth Games team will include contributing to training programs and facilities, access to medical equipment and travel needs for the thousands of athletes and supporters travelling to GC2018.
